Get Ari early. Tell us what breaks.
Ari is in pre-release, and the fastest way to make it good is to put it on real phones. If you fancy running an unfinished assistant and saying what you think of it, we would love to have you.
What you are signing up for
A pre-release build of the Android app, delivered through Google Play's internal testing track. Updates arrive the same way any app update does.
Be under no illusions: it is early. Things will be half-finished, some will be broken, and the wake word will occasionally ignore you out of sheer spite. That is rather the point — you are here to find that out before everyone else does.
What you need
- An Android phone running Android 10 or newer. There is no iOS build, and the Linux desktop app is not part of this programme yet.
- A Google account signed in to the Play Store on that phone.
- Patience to work with an early app, encounter bugs, and send bug reports!
How it works
You send your Google account email
Use the form below. Google's testing track is a closed list, so there is no way to let you sign yourself up — the email address is the only thing that actually unblocks anything.
We add you and send back a link
Your address goes on the tester list in the Play Console, and you get an opt-in link by email. You should get your email within 2 days at most, but if not, please email hey@heyari.dev. Please remember this is a voluntary project run by one person!
You opt in and install
Open the link, tap Become a tester, then follow it through to Google Play and install as normal. After that Ari updates itself like anything else on your phone.
The one thing people get wrong: it has to be the Google account that is actually signed in to the Play Store on the phone you will test on — not a work address that forwards to it, and not a second account you never use on that device.

What happens to your email address
It reaches us as a single email and goes on the tester list in the Google Play Console. That is the whole of it. It is not added to a mailing list, it is not shared with anyone, and there is nothing else to sign up for.
We hold it for as long as you are a tester. Ask us to remove you — by replying to any email from us, or writing to privacy@heyari.dev — and you come off the Play Console list and out of our inbox. The lawful basis is your consent, given by ticking that box.
